What kind of non-technical "nice-to-haves" you would expect to see in a healthy #OpenSource #FLOSS community?

Here's my list, from a #Perl and #RakuLang perspective – please share your own suggestions! 😃

#FLOSS community nice-to-have #1:

Someone that can shepherd a process for deciding a comprehensive branding for the communities, services and projects that associated with the community.

(Note: this is NOT the same as a branding for the organization that is dedicated to help support this.)

I know you're not specifically targeting perl.social with this but i'm going to definitely respond to some of this with regards to it 😀. This #1 is an area that I know I'm ultimately going to fall short on, on my own. I'm hoping that once I get some of the other technical areas of things out of the way that I can enlist some help from some of the more prominent community members to help with this regard on it. I'm hoping that I can force my way into fixing the last few technical issues that I can finally start that outcry for that help fairly soon since I suspect that with the current Reddit API plans that go forward on July 1st that there's going to be another disruption to a lot of communities again (just like happened with twitter).

FLOSS community nice-to-have #2:

An organization that offers a one-stop information resource for press, business, academia, public sector entities, legislators and other related or aligned groups, on how to approach, interact with, draw benefits and offer support to the the #FLOSS community.

This is one that I'm really hoping to manage to accomplish, and it's one reason I chose Friendica as the starting point for perl.social. I'm hoping that a lot of this can happen out in the open through the platform. Since it's got the ability to do things like delegated accounts and things I'm hoping that it can be used by some more "official" style communications across all activitypub platforms. Such as creating an announcment channel for a larger project like Mojolicious or even the PSC to be able to use and handle things with. That said it's still kind of a pipe dream for the whole thing to get that far.
