Most places don't take "rail museum" literally, but Kitakyushu (a steel town) does

Best trains at Kyushu Railway Museum:

EF10 35 circa 1935 1Co+Co1 electric freight locomotive

C59 1 4-6-2 express passenger steam locomotive built in 1941

Trains #3 and #4 were this goofy nonsense, the Mojiko Retro Express! Two open passenger cars sandwiched between two little low profile industrial shunters, running along the port and through a tunnel under the shinkansen tracks.

Train #5 was a JR Kyushu 821 series EMU. Just a local commuter train, but great upholstery.

Train #6 JR Kyushu 885 series limited express EMU running a Sonic service. You can tell it's not new (built circa 2001), but the seats are extremely comfy. Ironic, as this is the direct ancestor of the Hitachi trains in England where everyone seems to hate the seats.
