I worked in IT at a company that got audited by Oracle for RDBMS licenses. They found us compliant.

Being found compliant is a euphemism for only giving them the exact information the contract requires.

We moved Oracle from AIX on PowerVM (where they recognize LPARS as a boundary for core counting) to RHEL on VMware (where they required all cores to be licensed.
