Svelte 5 (JavaScript / Typescript) has introduced #Perl syntax ("Runes"). Didn't they mock our sigils for decades?

Ooo they even have $: now, but I missed what that does.

And @render.

and they have to use 'runes' instead of sigils to make it look like they're different, despite the neofascist implications of saying 'runes' (which disgust my neopagan friends!) 🤷‍♂️

where can I learn about neopagans problems with using the word "runes?"

IDK about reading; I just know from decades of shoulder-rubbing that neo-pagans had embraced runes separately from neofash embrace.
(not necc. earlier, but before WWW made it more widely known that the old-fash had been explicitly pivoting from 'normal' patriarchal religion to neo-aryan-paganism; relativisitc lightcone effect etc

Here's my partner's expert on the subject youtu.be/M-V8GMiE7K0 And:

The Welsh Viking is VERY vocally anti fascist. Jackson Crawford (the cowboy guy) isn't as loud about it but he's addressed it as basically, "Norse neopaganism is a modern fabrication with no historical basis, and white-supremacist neopaganism doubly so. I don't subscribe to that shit, so if that's what you're looking, you won't find it here."

Oh yeah, modern neopagans are generally non-fash. Didn't mean to imply otherwise.

Some of the 1930s/1940s fash and their modern neo-s embraced runes as symbolic aryanism; they dirtied a lot of culture.
(the H whose name we don't type himself and his hierarchy embraced Blackletter Fraktur typography for same germano-centric heritage reasons, and then later rejected it and embraced humanist typography, i forget if that was because of Xian association of Fraktur or what.)
